In Loving Memory of Our Children
Always Loved
Never Forgotten
Grief Suppot After the Death of a Child

When a child dies, at any age, the family suffers intense pain and may feel hopeless and isolated. The Compassionate Friends provides highly personal comfort, hope, and support to every family experiencing the death of a son or a daughter, a brother or a sister, or a grandchild, and helps others better assist the grieving family. We are a national nonprofit, self-help support organization that offers friendship, understanding, and hope to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings. Our meetings are open to family members who are grieving the death of a child of any age and by any cause. There is no religious affiliation, and there are no membership dues or fees. Our goal is that everyone who needs us will find us and everyone who finds us will be helped.

Dear friends,

Your leadership team, Allyson, Carolyn, Mary and I have made the sad decision to cancel all further meetings. As you know, I stepped down as a co-leader in December, and due to unforeseen personal reasons, Allyson and Carolyn are no longer able to lead the chapter. It was a difficult decision for all 4 of us, and one that we did not take lightly.

Our sibling group will continue to meet on zoom with Stephanie.

We are not closing the chapter, as we are hoping that someone will step forward and offer to lead our Katy group. This group has saved so many families from despair, and there is such a great need for the support. We are happy to coach or train anyone willing to assume the position of leader. It has been a huge honor for all of us to serve you, and while we will no longer meet, we will continue to inform you through the quarterly newsletter, the Facebook page and group and the website.

Any of us are still able to talk, text, email, meet you, one on one, and we sincerely do mean this.

Remember that this year’s national conference will be in person in Houston, I highly encourage you to attend and/or volunteer. Registrations will open soon, but you can already make your hotel reservation.

We are very pleased to welcome back TCF’s annual national conference, this year in person! This eagerly anticipated event for those bereaved parents, grandparents, and siblings who attend seeking renewed hope, ways of coping with their grief, and friendships made with those who truly understand the painful loss of a child, sibling, or grandchild. With inspirational keynote speakers, numerous workshops including a wide variety of topics, and the always memorable candle lighting program on Saturday evening, culminating with the popular Walk to Remember on Sunday morning, and so much more, the TCF 45th National Conference is a much-needed gift that we give to ourselves! This year’s conference will be held at the Marriott Marquis Houston. Reservations can now be made online at TCF’s dedicated reservation link. TCF’s discounted room rate with Marriott is $149 per night plus tax. Please note that each attendee will only be able to reserve two rooms. Since the conference begins early on Friday and pre-conference activities are offered on Thursday evening, attendees usually find it beneficial to arrive on Thursday.
